Transforming the lives of youth through athletic discipline and leadership
Our Mission
The mission of We Are Momentum Makers is to equip youth from underserved communities with the tools to overcome personal and systemic challenges by fostering resilience, discipline, and self-advocacy through athletic training, leadership development, and emotional wellness strategies. By blending physical activities with these elements, the program aspires to empower participants to champion their own futures while contributing positively to their communities. We do this by offering a curriculum and training program to encourage our philosophy.
Our Vision
Our vision is a world where every young person, regardless of socioeconomic status, has access to resources that help them navigate life’s challenges, build self-confidence, and develop skills that foster personal and social transformation. We aim to create a scalable and sustainable program that not only supports individual growth but also inspires a ripple effect of empowerment and change in communities nationwide.

FOUNDER, HARRY BRASS
Junior at Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, NY.
Harry Brass is a Junior at Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, NY. He is an artist at heart - relatively outgoing and deeply introspective. He’s always been one to enjoy being active and making things happen.
About three years ago, Harry’s father, who had done martial arts for years, encouraged Harry to try boxing, so he did. Not long after Harry began boxing, he developed both a passion for it and an understanding of what the practice can teach others. He noticed that boxing improved his ability to focus on tasks at hand and gave him the opportunity to practice preparedness in other areas of his life.
And thus: We Are Momentum Makers (WAMM) was born out of Harry’s desire to share lessons from the ring with a wider audience. He has the utmost confidence that, by understanding a sport like boxing, discipline can be developed and leadership capabilities can be nurtured.
He hopes that WAMM will greatly impact a wide audience who are interested, not only in boxing or in leadership, but those who are curious about exploring an alternative path to developing their leadership abilities.

Building Discipline & Resilience through Sports

The structured nature of athletics fosters discipline, goal-setting, and perseverance—key traits for overcoming personal and systemic challenges. (Source: Aspen Institute’s Project Play, 2021)

Improved Academic Performance & Cognitive Development
Youth who engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily show 20% higher test scores in subjects like math and reading compared to their less active peers. Exercise enhances brain function by improving blood flow and stimulating the release of neurotrophic factors that support learning and memory. (Source: Journal of Pediatrics, 2020)

Physical Activity Enhances Emotional Regulation
Studies show that regular physical activity reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression by up to 30% in children and adolescents. Exercise helps regulate cortisol and adrenaline (stress hormones) while increasing serotonin and dopamine levels, which promote emotional stability and well-being. (Source: CDC, 2022)
